When we claim the name of Christ through the whole of our lives, then you will be hated by others on many occasions. This will look different in many predicaments. The early church and in some countries today, this could mean jail or even death. In the US, it could mean slander or even plain avoidance of you. Don't feel guilty or compromise. Paul didn't, and in fact he led some of the prison guards to faith in Christ. Stand your ground for Jesus in every part of your life. Take note of the Scripture in John, if you were of the world then they would love you. Being of the world means taking God out of a certain area in your life. In that area, the world will love you. But in Matthew it says, "if you endure to the end, then you will be saved." Stand your ground and know that it's because of Jesus that this is happening. Stand firm, rejoice and know that your reward in heaven will be great (Matthew 5:11).
